[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] A man in his 40s was found dead in a septic tank at the Hite Jinro Gangwon Plant in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Province, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the police and fire authorities on the 6th, at around 2:03 PM on the 5th, a man in his 40s, Mr. A, was found dead in a septic tank approximately 3.5 meters deep inside the factory.
The fire department and police responded after receiving reports from Mr. A's family and colleagues stating that "Mr. A was missing."
The police plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the cause of death.
A police official stated, "The Hite Jinro Gangwon Plant, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) Public Transport Workers' Union Cargo Solidarity rally, and this incident are not related in any way."
