Shinhan Card Launches Live Commerce Advertising Platform 'Labang Plus'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Shinhan Card announced on the 5th that it has launched 'Labang Plus,' a platform that provides information and benefits about various live commerce broadcasts, on its Shinhan Play application.


Labang Plus is a service that displays the sales products, broadcast schedules, and benefits of various live commerce broadcasts in a program schedule format for easy viewing at a glance. Users can check live commerce broadcasts conducted on multiple sites in one place and receive advance notifications for broadcasts they are interested in, making it convenient. Advertisers conducting live commerce broadcasts can promote their broadcasts to Shinhan Play members, which is expected to increase potential customers.


In particular, Shinhan Card's Labang Plus has introduced the recently popular concept of 'app-tech.' Users earn 1 MyShinhan Point when they apply for advance broadcast notifications and 5 MyShinhan Points when they watch the broadcast. To celebrate the launch, the first 200,000 users will receive 500 MyShinhan Points, and an event is ongoing until the end of September where points earned from watching broadcasts are doubled.


Shinhan Card's Labang Plus can be accessed in the 'Must-Have' section on the Discover page of the Shinhan Play app. A notable feature is that 'CV3,' the first company spun off from Shinhan Card's in-house venture, participated in the technology development of this service.


Meanwhile, Shinhan Card is the first in the industry to directly enter the live commerce business. The company explains that it not only produces high-quality broadcasts in its own studio but also uses big data to identify target customer groups and encourages viewing and purchasing among these groups, achieving high effectiveness at a lower cost compared to traditional product advertising. For example, the global home appliance brand Dyson set a record for the highest sales in the shortest period through Shinhan Card's live commerce.
