[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] One of the three dog thieves who kidnapped famous pop star Lady Gaga's pet dog was sentenced to four years in prison, AFP reported on the 3rd (local time).

According to the report, a California court on the day recognized 20-year-old Jaylin Kaysen White, who was charged with armed robbery for stealing Lady Gaga's pet dog, with second-degree robbery and sentenced her to four years in prison.

The group kidnapped two French Bulldogs, Lady Gaga's pets, in February last year, aiming for monetary compensation. They shot the dog walker on the street in LA and stole the two dogs before fleeing. They were arrested in April last year on charges of attempted murder and robbery and were imprisoned.

Currently, 19-year-old James Howard Jackson and 28-year-old Lafayette Sean Weiley are also charged along with White. Among them, Jackson was imprisoned together but was released due to a paperwork error by correctional authorities and disappeared afterward. Last month, the US police offered a $5,000 reward for his capture.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga was filming a movie in Italy at the time of the shooting, and foreign media reported that she gave $500,000 to the dog walker who fought to protect her family after the incident as a token of gratitude.
