[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Women's Association Council of Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, held a relay campaign on the morning of the 3rd at two locations, Hyeongsan Rotary and Uhyun Intersection, with about 30 participants to raise public awareness of the eradication of violence against women and to spread social consensus and practice.


On this day, the campaign was conducted during the busy morning commute using banners and placards to urge active public interest and participation in the eradication of violence against women.


Recognizing and improving various types of violence such as domestic violence, sexual violence, and digital sex crimes, the women's organizations united with one heart and mind to enhance the status of "Pohang, a safe, women-friendly city free from violence against women," aiming to create a society where women are safe and, furthermore, everyone is safe.


Kim Jeong-rye, president of the City Women's Association Council, said, "Following the first relay campaign on July 7, we will carry out campaigns on the first Wednesday of every month to ensure that this is not a one-time event but a continuous and active effort in step with the local community to lead the way in making Pohang a safer, women-friendly city."
