Squid and Galchi Up to 40% Discount Sale

GS The Fresh sells frozen pollock.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS The Fresh announced on the 3rd that it will sell pollock at the lowest nationwide price level until the 8th to help customers who are having difficulty purchasing seafood due to high inflation.

The products being sold this time are pollock supplied by releasing government stockpiles. Government stockpiled cut frozen pollock is sold in 1kg units at a price of 5,000 won.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries released about 58 tons at discounted prices to stabilize prices as the market price of pollock, the nation's most consumed fish in South Korea, increased by more than 30% compared to the average year.

GS The Fresh is also holding a seafood event for price stabilization in cooperation with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Popular and familiar seafood such as squid and hairtail will be sold at discounts of up to 40%.

A GS The Fresh official said, “We decided to sell government-released pollock at the lowest nationwide price level to help general consumers even a little,” and added, “We will continue to provide support for producers who are suffering from securing sales channels due to decreased consumption caused by high inflation.”
