Daegu University Professor Lee Hee-jo awarded 'Scientist of the Year Medal' by International Advanced Materials Association

Research Achievements on Graphene-Based Fabrication Specialization for Microwave Circuits and Devices

Daegu University Professor Lee Hee-jo awarded 'Scientist of the Year Medal' by International Advanced Materials Association Professor Lee Hee-jo, Department of Physics Education, Daegu University.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Professor Lee Hee-jo of the Department of Physics Education at Daegu University recently received the 'Scientist of the Year Medal' awarded by the International Advanced Materials Association.

Daegu University announced on the 2nd that Professor Lee was honored with the award in recognition of his contributions to the fabrication, characterization, and application research of graphene for microwave circuits and devices.

In July, Professor Lee was invited as a speaker at the European Advanced Materials Society held in Genoa, Italy, where he presented his research achievements on "Graphene Characterization for Microwave Devices and Circuits."

This research covers the microwave properties of single-layer and multilayer graphene in the microwave broadband range (0.5-40 GHz), microwave transmission line modeling and characteristics of single-layer graphene, and the electrical properties and performance of multilayer graphene with varying widths applied to existing microwave devices and circuits.

Professor Lee has shown remarkable achievements in the field of microwave circuit device research.

He has published five papers as the primary author in internationally renowned journals such as Carbon, Applied Physics Letters, and Journal of Applied Physics, and one co-authored paper on the microwave properties of graphene oxide in Applied Physics Letters.

The IAAM is an international academic organization renowned for its authority and scale in the field of materials science, awarding prizes annually to world-class scientists, engineers, and scholars and inviting them to give award lectures. Professor Lee Hee-jo is scheduled to receive the award at the World Advanced Materials Congress held in Stockholm, Sweden, this coming October.
