Korea Publication Culture Industry Promotion Agency Partners with Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do to Establish 'Book Culture Center'

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Korea Publication Culture Industry Promotion Agency and Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province signed a business agreement on the 29th regarding the '2022 Book Culture Center Establishment and Operation.' The agreement took place in the meeting room of Bucheon City Hall with the participation of the head of the Publication Promotion Agency and the mayor of Bucheon.

The agreement was made to establish the Bucheon Book Culture Center and ensure its smooth operation in the future. Plans include ▲ cooperation in establishing the Bucheon Book Culture Center ▲ cooperation in operating reading culture programs after the center's establishment ▲ cooperation to revitalize local publishing and reading culture.

Bucheon City plans to create the Bucheon Book Culture Center on the 3rd floor of Kkumbit Library, providing spaces such as a creative space for local authors, a one-person publishing startup incubation room, and a reading rest area. By offering various publishing and reading culture programs such as publishing support, basic editor courses, and sharing reading experiences, it is expected to serve as an opportunity to expand citizens' enjoyment of reading and culture.

A representative from the Publication Promotion Agency said, “We hope the Book Culture Center will become a space for seeking knowledge, creating content, making books, and sharing them, serving as a catalyst for the development of the local publishing and reading culture industry,” adding, “Through the business agreement with Bucheon City, we will continue multifaceted cooperation to revitalize the local reading culture.”
