[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Online video service (OTT) Netflix is producing an SF disaster film.
On the 2nd, Netflix announced, "We have confirmed the production of the film 'Daehongsu' (working title) directed by director Kim Byung-woo," and "Actors Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo will star."
'Daehongsu' is an SF disaster blockbuster film depicting the desperate struggle of those who place humanity's last hope for survival on the final day of Earth, engulfed by a great flood, inside an apartment submerged in water.
Director Kim Byung-woo, who directed the films 'The Terror Live' (2013) and 'PMC: The Bunker' (2018), will take the helm, and Hwansang-ui Bit, founded by CEO Jeon Ryeo-kyung, will handle production.
Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo will take on survival roles amid the disaster. Kim Da-mi plays Anna, an artificial intelligence development researcher who struggles to survive the massive tsunami, while Park Hae-soo portrays Hee-jo, a personnel security team member trying to rescue Anna amid the global threat of the great flood.
