[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A man was arrested with a taser gun after going on a stabbing rampage in the nude in a residential area near a girls' high school.
On the 1st, the Gwangju Dongbu Police Station arrested Mr. A on the spot on charges including obstruction of official duties and is currently investigating him.
Mr. A is accused of walking around naked around 6:40 a.m. in an alley adjacent to the fence of a girls' high school in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and hitting police officers who responded to the report multiple times with fists and feet.
He even brought a weapon from inside his house and attacked the police officers who tried to persuade him to return home.
The police subdued him using a baton and a taser gun after he refused to drop the weapon despite multiple warnings.
After being caught by the police, Mr. A reportedly rambled, saying, "I am the Terminator. I came from the future. What my fist hit was not a person but a wooden stick."
The police confirmed that Mr. A has a history of mental illness and long-term treatment, and judging that he committed the crime while delusional, they plan to take compulsory hospitalization measures.
