OTT, Travel, Delivery Over 50,000 KRW Monthly Discount... 'K-Bank Samsung iD Card' Launched


[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] K Bank is partnering with Samsung Card to launch a co-branded card offering various discount benefits targeting the MZ (Millennial + Z) generation.


K Bank announced on the 1st that it will release the 'K Bank Samsung iD Card.'


The main feature of this product is that users can receive discounts of up to 55,000 KRW per month at about 37 online and offline locations across various industries, including online video streaming services (OTT) like Netflix and TVING, online shopping malls, travel platforms, and delivery order platforms. Additionally, discounts are available at overseas merchants and for airline tickets.


First, in the 'Streaming & Webtoon' category, users can get a 50% discount on OTT services (Netflix, YouTube Premium, Disney+, TVING, Watcha), music streaming services (Melon, WAVVE, FLO), and Kakao Webtoon. The monthly discount limit is up to 15,000 KRW.


In the 'Trendy Shopping' category, a 5% discount applies to online fashion malls (Musinsa, W Concept, Cream, Nike.com), online shopping malls (Coupang, TMON, WeMakePrice, Gmarket, and 8 others), as well as department stores and premium outlets. The monthly discount limit is also up to 15,000 KRW.


For 'Travel Platforms' such as Yanolja, YogiYogi, and Daily Hotel, and 'Delivery Apps' (Baedal Minjok, Yogiyo, Coupang Eats), as well as coffee specialty stores (Starbucks, Twosome Place, Coffee Bean, Blue Bottle) and the 'Transportation & Telecommunications' category, a 10% discount is provided. However, the discount limit is up to 15,000 KRW per month.


The discount limit varies depending on the previous month's spending amount, but an additional 1% unlimited discount is offered regardless of the previous month's spending when paying at overseas merchants or purchasing airline tickets (Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and 5 others).


Applications and benefits for this product can be checked on the K Bank application (app). A K Bank official stated, "We selected online and offline companies frequently used by the MZ generation in daily life to structure the discount benefits in collaboration with Samsung Card," adding, "We will continue to prepare collaborative products that provide more benefits to customers."
