[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] U.S. President Joe Biden, who was reinfected with COVID-19, tested positive again on the second day of testing.

According to AP News and others, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, President Biden's physician, confirmed the positive result in a letter released by the White House on the 31st of last month (local time), stating, "President Biden will continue to work from the residence in isolation." He also added that the 79-year-old President Biden is still in good condition.

Previously, President Biden was isolated after testing positive for COVID-19 on July 21, but after Paxlovid treatment, he tested negative on July 27. However, just three days later, on July 30, he tested positive for COVID-19 again. Accordingly, President Biden has canceled scheduled events such as a visit to Newcastle, Delaware, originally planned for that day.

During his first infection, President Biden showed typical COVID-19 symptoms such as a runny nose, dry cough, and fatigue, but the White House explained that he is "asymptomatic" after the reinfection.

Local media reported that such relapse cases are not very rare and that additional antiviral treatment is not necessary in these cases.
