Pohang Youth Foundation Successfully Hosts 'Midsummer Sea and Youth Party'

The 4th Gyeongbuk-do Youth Harmony Festival to be Held at Tourist Attraction Yeongildae on the 30th

From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 30th, the fourth youth gathering event of the year, "Midsummer Sea and Youth Party," was successfully held at Yeongildae in Pohang.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Pohang Youth Foundation Youth Center successfully held the fourth youth gathering event of the year, "Midsummer Sea and Youth Party," on the 30th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the plaza in front of the Yeongildae Haesangnugak, a famous tourist attraction in Pohang.

"Midsummer Sea and Youth Party" is a youth event held in conjunction with the local event Bentonite at Yeongildae Beach, a representative tourist spot in Pohang. It is composed of various programs designed to promote coexistence between the local community and youth, allowing residents and young people to come together and heal.

For this event, the dress code was unified as "Blue," matching the midsummer sea theme. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., various youth experience booths were operated, including woodworking, face painting, and making Latin-style dustproof keychains, with participation from schools such as Semyung High School, Dongji Girls' Middle School, and Pohang Steel Technical High School.

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., youth club performances began, hosted by youth MCs. In line with the concept of a "Youth Party," 10 youth clubs from Pohang High School, Dongji Girls' High School, Pohang Health High School, and others participated, delivering exciting stages mainly featuring bands, hip-hop, and dance teams.

A real-time event using KakaoTalk open chat rooms was held on-site to encourage wide participation, further elevating the atmosphere.

Yoon Youngran, Executive Director of the Pohang Youth Foundation, said, "I was glad to see youths, exhausted from COVID-19, enjoying a joyful party and mingling with citizens," adding, "We will continue to strive to communicate with the local community to further activate festivals for youth."

The Gyeongbuk Province representative youth gathering is held once a month at the Pohang Youth Foundation Youth Center, offering various events with youth. The August event is scheduled to be held at Yeongildae on the 20th. For more details, please contact the Youth Center.
