- Ministry of Land Eases Real Estate Regulation Zones in Daegu Area
- Surge in Interest for ‘Daegu Area’ Housing on Real Estate Websites
On the 30th of last month, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport held the Housing Policy Deliberation Committee meeting and reviewed and approved the 'Adjustment Plan for Speculative Overheated Districts and Regulated Areas,' significantly easing additional regulations. Suseong-gu in Daegu was downgraded from a speculative overheated district to a regulated area, and six other districts and one county were released from regulated areas to non-regulated areas.
Since December of the year before last, except for some areas in Dalseong-gun, all areas in Daegu had been designated as regulated areas. From the second half of last year, housing transactions sharply declined and prices dropped due to strengthened loan regulations and continued interest rate hikes, with unsold units steadily increasing. Accordingly, continuous requests for reviewing the deregulation of regulated areas have been made from May last year to June this year.
In fact, a significant portion of the real-time searched complexes on real estate-related sites such as Hogangnono are apartments in the Daegu area, and inquiries related to local real estate have surged. This is because the recent deregulation can even bring about the positive effect of price increases.
After the deregulation of these areas, pre-sold complexes in Daegu with good locations and overlapping development prospects are gaining attention for their high potential for price appreciation.
