Gwangyang City to Host 'Namdo Badatgil Camping Festival' in Top 10 Themed Trips

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the ‘Namdo Coastal Road Camping Festival’ as part of the Korea Theme Travel Top 10 project.

The ‘Namdo Coastal Road Camping Festival,’ which will take place at Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest’s 1st campground, will be held three times on August 20, September 3, and September 24.

The recruitment scale is 37 teams per session, and anyone who loves camping can apply. Applications are currently being accepted on a real-time first-come, first-served basis.

The participation fee is 130,000 KRW, and in addition to the camping site, healthy and fresh local foods such as rice, meat, and seafood will be provided.

In the evening, a variety of romantic events are planned, including a potluck party where participants share their food, Daedongnori (traditional group play), talent shows, constellation stories, and movie screenings.

Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest, where the camping festival will be held, is a healing spot featuring dense primeval forests, an ecological forest, a healing forest, and a wooden culture experience center, gaining popularity among camping enthusiasts through word of mouth.

Kim Seongsu, Director of Tourism, said, “The camping festival, held in connection with the 6th region of the Theme Travel Top 10, was planned to promote the beautiful tourist resources of Namdo and improve camping culture. We look forward to much interest and participation in this special camping festival at Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest.”

The ‘Korea Theme Travel Top 10 project’ is a five-year project promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to revitalize domestic tourism by grouping 3 to 4 local governments into one region. The ‘6th region Namdo Coastal Road,’ operated by Gwangyang along with Yeosu, Suncheon, and Boseong, is a premium course where visitors can enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery including rivers, ports, and islands.
