The Regional-Industry-Academia Linked Vocational Education Innovation District project is operated through cooperation between the Office of Education and local governments to cultivate vocational high school talents closely connected to the region, leading local industrial development. It is a vocational education support system that activates employment-first and learning-later by involving vocational high schools, local companies, and local universities.
The Busan Office of Education and Busan City selected four core fields linked to regional industries: smart manufacturing, global tourism, financial management information services, and life care.
This year, in the fields of smart manufacturing and global tourism, 25 students each will be matched with excellent local companies and universities for employment-first and learning-later.
In the smart manufacturing field, seven companies are participating: Corens EM, Jeil Electric Industry, Samwoo MCP, Hanseon Engineering, Hanmi Hydraulic Machinery, Samdo Hydraulic, and Hanjo.
In the global tourism field, four companies are participating: Park Hyatt Busan, Paradise Hotel Busan, Grand Chosun Busan, and Shilla Stay Haeundae.
Students matched with companies will receive further education at local cooperative universities after graduating from high school.
Lee Jae-han, Director of Future Talent Education at the Busan Office of Education, said, “Our Office of Education will spare no support for the Regional-Industry-Academia Linked Vocational Education Innovation District project so that vocational high school students can achieve their dreams.”
