[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] NH Investment & Securities announced on the 27th that it donated 74 refrigerators to village communities in Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do. The delivery ceremony was held at the Damyang County Office on the same day, attended by Kim Hyung-shin, Vice President of NH Investment & Securities, Lee Byung-no, Mayor of Damyang, and other local officials.
The refrigerator support project is a rural village community support initiative conducted by NH Investment & Securities and the NongHyup Foundation since 2019, targeting rural village communities nationwide (village halls, senior centers).
From 2019 to the past three years, a total of 1,263 electric ranges were supported, and starting this year, the supported appliances installed in village community senior centers have been changed to refrigerators, which are subject to durability standards.
The selection of regions is based on population statistics from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, reflecting factors such as the aging rate, the proportion of elderly living alone, absolute population numbers, and population decline trends, with weighted priorities applied. NH Investment & Securities plans to support a total of 360 refrigerators for village communities this year.
Meanwhile, NH Investment & Securities is practicing social responsibility activities such as helping rural labor shortages and supporting village communities in line with the 'ESG Transformation 2025' vision declared by NH NongHyup Financial Group.
They continuously carry out labor assistance activities such as 'Creating Villages Together' by visiting rural areas with labor shortages. In addition, they are committed to social responsibility activities by delivering donations for rural assistance through voluntary participation of employees.
