Active Administration Including Direct Visits to Mobility-Impaired Individuals
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, has been actively administering direct visit support and other proactive measures since June 24 to expedite the payment of the ‘Temporary Emergency Living Support Fund for Low-Income Households,’ achieving a payment rate of 99% as of the 26th.
The Temporary Emergency Living Support Fund for Low-Income Households is provided to basic livelihood security recipients, legally designated near-poverty groups, and single-parent families receiving child-rearing support to alleviate the financial burden caused by the recent rapid rise in prices, which has made purchasing basic consumer goods difficult, and to enhance their consumption capacity.
The city’s support scale covers 13,820 households with a total of 6.2 billion KRW.
To increase the payment rate, the city dispatches visiting nurses from the eup, myeon, and dong offices to visit the homes of recipients who have difficulty moving or receiving the funds in person to assist with the receipt process.
Additionally, for the Gaho-dong area, which recently relocated to a new government building, the city has set up a temporary ‘Emergency Living Support Fund Special Counter’ at the Gajwa Social Welfare Center in cooperation with the Dong Administrative Welfare Center, enabling recipients to receive the funds early through proactive outreach administration.
A city official stated, “Recipients who have not yet received their prepaid cards are encouraged to visit their local eup, myeon offices or dong administrative welfare centers by the 29th to collect them.”
