[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] On the 21st, the Cheolma-myeon Administrative Welfare Center and the Cheolma-myeon Community Security Council in Gijang-gun, Busan, signed a business agreement with Korea Yakult Banyeo Branch and Namsan Sales Branch to promote the ‘Lonely Death Prevention Project Jibapmae (愛)’.
The ‘Lonely Death Prevention Project Jibapmae (愛)’ is a project targeting 40 vulnerable groups with high social isolation, such as elderly living alone in Cheolma-myeon, involving home visits twice a week to check on their well-being by delivering health drinks and providing counseling and welfare services.
According to the agreement, Korea Yakult delivery managers will check on the vulnerable groups while delivering health drinks and promptly share information in case of emergencies to connect and support welfare services.
Jung Beom-jin, head of Korea Yakult Banyeo Branch, and Kim Jong-hoon, head of Namsan Sales Branch, said, “We will carefully monitor the safety and health of the recipients through health drink deliveries to ensure that neighbors in need of help are not overlooked.”
Yang Jae-yeol, head of Cheolma-myeon, said, “The Lonely Death Prevention Project Jibapmae (愛), which has been promoted since 2018, plays a significant role in discovering crisis households and resolving welfare blind spots. We will do our best to build a social safety network through continuous public-private cooperation and provide customized welfare services to vulnerable groups.”
