According to the county on the 26th, ‘Healthy Care Playground’ is an obesity prevention project for children using care centers, consisting of nutrition and dietary taste experiences, horticultural activities for emotional stability, and play-type traditional games to promote physical activity, conducted by nutritionists and external instructors from various fields.
The ‘Nutrition and Dietary Taste Experience’ uses healthy foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables produced locally, helping children develop a proper dietary awareness by cooking and tasting various flavors and selecting healthy foods.
The ‘Play-type Traditional Games’ include Jegichagi, Yutnori, chicken fighting, and Biseokchigi, through which children can cultivate the wisdom of their ancestors’ lives, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
In addition, physical activities to improve health habits and physical strength of growing children are conducted alongside health education on atopy, alcohol moderation, smoking, and oral care.
A health center official said, “We hope children will benefit from the Healthy Care Playground program in forming healthy and proper eating habits,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to operate the program in various ways amid the COVID-19 situation.”
