Shinhan Asset Trust to Launch 'Panak Operated by Sono' in August, Gyeongbuk's Only Property with 100% Ocean View Rooms

Shinhan Asset Trust is set to launch sales of the premium residential lodging facility Panak Operated by Sono in August in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The facility is developed by Shinhan Asset Trust and entrusted to Sono Hotel & Resort (formerly Daemyung Hotel & Resort) for operation.

Located in Samsa Marine Park, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Panak Operated by Sono consists of a hotel building with 217 rooms across 6 types from basement level 4 to ground level 9, and a pool villa building with 45 rooms of 1 type from basement level 1 to ground level 2.

Residential lodging facilities are attracting attention as an investment alternative due to being relatively free from regulations compared to apartments. In particular, they are not included in the housing count and allow resale of pre-sale rights, maintaining investor interest.

A real estate expert stated, “Previously supplied residential lodging facilities, with floor plans similar to hotels, did not achieve great success as lodging facilities. However, recently launched residential lodging facilities boast floor plans with comfort incomparable to hotels and include various ancillary facilities, greatly increasing preference among many travelers and demand groups. With the end of COVID-19 and the expected revitalization of the tourism industry, residential lodging facilities launching sales this year are receiving significant attention due to the investment enthusiasm.”

Meanwhile, Panak Operated by Sono, a residential lodging facility with differentiated specialized design and hotel-level services, is drawing much interest. Sono Hotel & Resort (formerly Daemyung Hotel & Resort), entrusted with its operation, is a leading domestic resort and hotel operator with over 500,000 members nationwide. It operates 17 resorts and hotels across the country, including Sono Felice and Sono Belle Vivaldi Park, and one overseas location (Sono Belle Haiphong), offering various partnership benefits and memberships.

The Panak Operated by Sono complex features ocean views from all rooms in both the hotel and pool villa buildings, and includes a 50-meter infinity pool, allowing uninterrupted panoramic sea views. Various community facilities such as a rooftop bar, garden, and sky lounge restaurant are available, and guests can enjoy relaxation and leisure along the coastal wooden deck trail in front of the hotel. Additionally, Sono Hotel & Resort will provide 20 years of entrusted operation, offering high-end quality lodging and dining services in the rooms, as well as home cleaning and laundry pickup and delivery services.

Panak Operated by Sono also boasts an optimal location for residential lodging facilities. The complex is situated in Ganggu Port, the center of tourism in Gyeongbuk, which ranked first in tourist spots in Gyeongbuk and second nationwide in 2021 with over 3 million visitors. Representative tourist attractions of Yeongdeok-gun, such as Yeongdeok Sunrise Park, Chuksan Port, and Okgae Valley, are also easily accessible.

The transportation environment is favorable. Rapid access to other regions is possible via the Dangjin-Yeongdeok Expressway Yeongdeok IC, Donghae Line Ganggu Station, and Ganggu Bus Terminal. Furthermore, the Donghae Jungbu Line railway section from Yeongdeok to Samcheok is scheduled to open in 2023, and the Pohang-Yeongdeok Donghae Expressway is expected to be completed next year, further improving accessibility. The Ganggu Marine Bridge is also scheduled for completion in 2026.

High future value is also anticipated. Near Samsa Marine Park, the country’s first and largest Yeongdeok Eye (Yeongdeok Ferris Wheel) is under development with a target completion in 2024. The development of a marine cable car will directly connect Haeparang Park in Ganggu Port, the region with the highest number of tourists in Korea in 2020. Yeongdeok Ocean Beach CC is located just 5 minutes away, and tourist attraction complexes including a monorail, zip wire, and alpine coaster are under development, which is expected to further increase demand.

Meanwhile, the groundbreaking ceremony for Panak Operated by Sono is scheduled for the 26th (Tuesday), with participation from the Yeongdeok County Governor and other key figures, drawing considerable attention.

The Yeongdeok Panak Operated by Sono model house is currently open.
