KOTRA Restructures Branch Office Project... "From One Region to Multiple Regions Selected Simultaneously"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KOTRA announced that it will revamp its customized service, the "Branch Office Project," starting from the 25th. Until now, the "Branch Office Project" allowed companies to select only one region, but a new "Wide-area Branch Office Service" has been added, enabling companies to apply by grouping multiple regions. This is to meet the demand from companies wanting to verify market potential in various regions within a short period.

The "Branch Office Project" is a service where KOTRA's overseas trade center branch office dedicated staff find buyers desired by companies, provide consultations, and help conclude export contracts over one year. It has received great response as companies can use it like an overseas branch office without directly operating one abroad.

Companies applying for the "Wide-area Branch Office Project" can receive customized services for six months each in two overseas regions simultaneously. There is also an option to receive services in three regions simultaneously for one year. Among 75 promising emerging overseas markets, companies can select three desired regions and receive services for one year at a lower price than before. This method involves joint support from KOTRA overseas trade center branch office dedicated staff in various global regions.

Last year alone, 4,265 domestic small and medium-sized enterprises used KOTRA's Branch Office Project, achieving a total export performance of $3.47 billion. Exports through the Branch Office Project reached $2.01709 billion by June this year, a 31% increase compared to the same period last year.

Kim Yoon-tae, head of KOTRA's Small and Medium Business Division, stated, "We are increasing the flexibility of the service so that our companies can respond more quickly and flexibly to changes in the export environment," and added, "We will make further efforts to resolve difficulties faced by export companies and promote export growth through customized support."
