[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn (65, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 13) has taken a new position at the law firm Logos.


According to legal circles on the 25th, Hwang informed acquaintances that day via text message, "I will be working as a standing advisor lawyer at the law firm Logos," adding, "I will stand with those facing difficulties due to legal issues or business operations during tough times."


It is known that he joined Logos last month. Hwang graduated from Kyunggi High School and Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in law. He began his career as a prosecutor at Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office in 1983 and served as head of the Public Security Division 3 at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, deputy chief prosecutor at Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and later as chief prosecutor at Changwon District Prosecutors' Office, Daegu High Prosecutors' Office, and Busan High Prosecutors' Office.


After leaving the prosecution, he served as Minister of Justice from 2013 to 2015 and as Prime Minister from 2015 to 2017 under the Park Geun-hye administration. Following the impeachment of former President Park, he acted as the presidential authority delegate. Subsequently, he entered politics and served as the leader of the Liberty Korea Party and the United Future Party, predecessors of the People Power Party, from 2019 to 2020.
