[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 25th that it has finalized the selection of 13 early-stage startups to participate in the ‘Startup Autobahn Korea’ and will begin a 100-day acceleration program. This is an increase of two companies compared to last year.
As a startup acceleration platform at the German headquarters level, it collaborates with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Seoul Startup Hub, and Korea International Trade Association. This year marks the third edition, with companies such as Mangoslab, a heat transfer system specialist, and LiveK, the world’s first real-object-based metaverse live content production company, being selected. Hanwha Systems joined as a new partner this year. Along with SK Telecom and LG Electronics, who have participated since the previous project, they support startups in technology verification and commercialization.
The 13 selected companies will collaborate with partner companies on project development over the next 100 days while undergoing acceleration and mentoring processes. They will devise market entry and commercialization plans for their products and services and discuss channel development for overseas market expansion.
Since its first domestic launch in 2020, a total of 16 companies have participated in projects up to last year. Deepfine, an extended reality technology-based remote collaboration platform that participated last year, and Mopic, a display company participating this year, were the first Korean companies invited to Expo Day held at the German headquarters, where they demonstrated their final results.
The 13 companies selected this time will share their development achievements at the final pitching event in December and hold networking events to seek investment opportunities.
