Organization Restructuring Complete, Entering Preparation for 2024 General Election

Kim Ju-eop Re-elected as 2nd Term Chairman of Progressive Party Gwangju Branch

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Progressive Party Gwangju Metropolitan City Party has completed organizational restructuring by electing 8 regional committee chairs and 17 field committee chairs for the 2nd term party officer election, and is entering the 2024 general election preparation phase.


Kim Joo-eop, former committee chair, was re-elected as the chair.


In the class and social strata organizations, An Ji-seop, chair of the Gwangju Workers' Party, Kim Cheol-young, chair of the Gwangju Poor People's Party, Kim Yang-ji, chair of the Gwangju Women and Mothers Party, and Kang Han-sol, chair of the Gwangju Youth Progressive Party, were elected.


Chair Kim stated, "In the last local election, the Progressive Party produced 6 winners in Gwangju and 21 winners nationwide, achieving a leap as the third party," and expressed the ambition, "We will definitely succeed in entering the National Assembly in 2024 by winning the Gwangju constituency in the 2024 general election."


The city party plans to hold a temporary delegates' meeting in September to prepare for the "era of 10,000 party members with voting rights and entry into the National Assembly in the 2024 general election."
