Louis Vuitton holds a raffle sale for the 'Air Force 1' reinterpreted by Virgil Abloh in collaboration with Nike.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] The resale price of the sneakers 'Louis Vuitton X Nike Air Force 1,' released through a collaboration between the French luxury brand Louis Vuitton and Nike, has soared to 10 to 20 million KRW in the domestic market. The original retail price of the Nike Air Force 1 is 129,000 KRW.
According to Naver resale platform KREAM on the 23rd, the 'Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 Low by Virgil Abloh Met Silver Black' in size 255mm was traded for 20 million KRW on the 19th. The 'White Comet Red' in size 265mm was quoted at 12.9 million KRW on the same day. Both products had a release price of 3.51 million KRW, but the resale price immediately surged to 3 to 5 times the retail price.
Louis Vuitton sold nine types of sneakers made in collaboration with Nike on its official online store on the 19th. This is part of the 47 Air Force 1 editions unveiled by Virgil Abloh in collaboration with Nike during Louis Vuitton's 2022 Spring-Summer collection last June. It became a posthumous work as Virgil Abloh passed away after battling cancer.
The edition was produced at the Louis Vuitton workshop located in Pieso d'Arteco in Venice, Italy, and was born from the combination of the unique sensibility of the Air Force 1, premium leather and materials, Louis Vuitton's emblem, and Virgil Abloh's exceptional visual grammar.
