F&Guide Adds Negative Disclosure Data Service

F&Guide Adds Negative Disclosure Data Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Financial information company FnGuide announced on the 21st that it will start providing negative disclosure data services for listed companies on its capital market analysis systems DataGuide and QuantiWise.

Last year, the capital market experienced great turmoil, including the largest embezzlement case in history, which led to delisting reviews. Even recently, embezzlement incidents at listed companies and financial institutions continue to occur. Negative issues involving companies, including embezzlement, can cause investment losses for investors and pose significant risks to the companies themselves, requiring long-term efforts and costs to restore damaged reputations.

An FnGuide official stated, “By providing negative disclosure data of listed companies, investors can use these indicators to assess the credibility of investment targets, and listed companies can manage more thoroughly in advance to prevent negative issues, thereby contributing to the healthy development of the capital market.”

The negative disclosure items provided by FnGuide include four categories: △ bankruptcy and suspension of bank transactions △ dissolution or bankruptcy-related matters △ embezzlement, breach of trust, and false payment of capital stock △ litigation-related matters, with data available from 2010 onward. In the future, the negative disclosure items will be expanded to include △ fines, penalties, and other administrative actions △ non-payment of bond and loan principal and interest △ reasons for designation as a management item or delisting (such as capital impairment rate over 50%, sales under 5 billion KRW), among others.

With the launch of this service, FnGuide plans to continuously discover and provide various data that market participants, including investors, can utilize beyond just negative disclosure data.
