Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul (center), is visiting a community service center, the frontline of administration, on the 20th to encourage the staff.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, visited community service centers on the 20th to encourage the hard work of employees working on the front lines of administration.
On this day, Mayor Kim visited four community service centers to encourage the staff dedicated to resident welfare and to have a time of communication.
The tour schedule of the community service centers was arranged to encourage employees who have been working hard on COVID-19 quarantine activities and preparations for summer heavy rain and heat waves, and to listen to voices from the field.
Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, “I thank the employees who have done their best in their respective positions, such as supporting COVID-19 and promoting the two major elections. As you are the face representing Gangseo-gu working on the front lines of administration and welfare services, I hope you take pride and actively engage in your duties.”
Mayor Kim plans to visit 20 community service centers sequentially by the 27th to grasp the main status of each district and listen to the difficulties of the employees.
Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, will focus on visiting 14 neighborhoods in the district from the 20th to the 29th of this month to listen to residents' opinions on local issues and seek solutions.
Mayor Lee will receive reports on major local issues from each neighborhood chief and listen to residents' suggestions through meetings.
He will also visit sites of key projects of the 8th local government term and residents’ long-standing projects to check the status and seek ways to overcome problems and promote rapid progress together with the heads of the departments in charge and related experts.
The visits will be held starting with Chunghyeon-dong and Cheonyeon-dong on the 20th, Yeonhui-dong on the 21st, Bukahyeon-dong and Hongje 1-dong on the 22nd, Sinchon-dong on the 25th, Hongje 2 and 3-dong on the 26th, Hong Eun 1 and 2-dong on the 27th, Namgajwa 1 and 2-dong on the 28th, and Bukgajwa 1 and 2-dong on the 29th.
Through this, Mayor Lee will visit a total of 31 major project sites including the planned construction site of Bukahyeon Overpass, redevelopment area around Inwang Market, Gajaeul New Town District 8, and the site for the construction of the Sinchon-dong complex community center.
Mayor Lee Seong-heon said, “This neighborhood visit was promoted as part of swiftly fulfilling the residents’ earnest wishes for regional development, and I will devote myself to enhancing project execution power to achieve concrete results and make Seodaemun leap forward.”
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition titled ‘Beautiful Outing ? Capturing Our Dreams’ held at Sangye Arts Center at 2 p.m. on the 20th.
This exhibition is a collaborative project between Nowon 50 Plus Center and Seongmin Welfare Center. ‘Citizen Advocates’ who received disability rights advocacy training at Nowon 50 Plus Center prepared a photo album capturing the ‘dreams’ of people with developmental disabilities as part of activities to improve awareness of disabilities.
The opening ceremony proceeded with guest introductions, congratulatory speeches, commemorative photos, and artwork introductions. The exhibition will run until July 22.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “I hope this exhibition provides many people with an opportunity to rethink human rights for people with disabilities. We will pay closer attention to improving awareness and rights of people with disabilities and do our best to create a disability-friendly city.”
Yongsan-gu (Mayor Park Hee-young) and Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd. signed a business agreement on the 20th at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong to promote energy efficiency projects.
The district attended the ‘Energy Efficiency Innovation Cooperation Vision Proclamation Ceremony’ jointly hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Seoul City, agreeing to cooperate with Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd. to build ‘Smart Green Yongsan.’
The two organizations plan to cooperate in transforming into an eco-friendly energy autonomous district through ▲energy demand efficiency in public buildings within Yongsan-gu ▲demonstration projects for digital demand management technology development ▲solar power dissemination and generation forecasting projects utilizing idle land.
Mayor Park Hee-young of Yongsan-gu said, “Through this agreement, we expect to realize energy self-sufficiency by reducing energy consumption in public buildings by about 10 to 15%. We will actively participate in energy efficiency innovation projects promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Seoul City to make Yongsan a leading district in carbon neutrality.”
