[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) announced on the 19th that it has selected Now Robotics Co., Ltd. and Intusky Co., Ltd. as the '2022 Robot Star Companies' and will provide full support.
Since 2020, Incheon TP has been running a Robot Star Company development project to discover robot companies in the Incheon area with technological capabilities and potential, helping them grow into globally competitive companies.
The support targets small and medium-sized enterprises with an average annual sales of over 1 billion KRW or mid-sized companies with less than 100 billion KRW in sales, providing funding for production facilities and process improvements, prototype production, marketing, and other expenses.
Now Robotics, which manufactures and sells industrial robots, continues its growth by consecutively launching two new products: the plastic injection smart Cartesian pick-and-place robot "NURO" (a robot that removes molded plastic products from injection molding machines) and the plastic injection dedicated multi-joint robot "NURO X." Last year, its sales reached 8.3 billion KRW, and it has challenged the industrial logistics robot market.
Intusky produces domestically manufactured autonomous pest control and agricultural flying robots based on core technologies such as cadastral map-based automatic pest control technology and video-based autonomous collision avoidance flight technology.
With the production and sales of medium to large flying robots, it recorded sales of 5.8 billion KRW last year. Following the acquisition and merger of Metarobotics Co., Ltd., it is preparing for a demonstration through joint research on UAM (Urban Air Mobility) with drone company Pablo Aviation.
Previously, Incheon TP selected and supported five companies as Robot Star Companies: Eugene Robot Co., Ltd., Syscon Co., Ltd., Blue Communication Co., Ltd., Down Co., Ltd., and Yuil Robotics Co., Ltd.
Among them, Yuil Robotics received the Presidential Award in November last year for its contribution to the development of the domestic robot industry through industrial robot development and export expansion, while Syscon continues its rapid growth by supplying logistics robots to production sites of leading domestic conglomerates.
An official from Incheon TP stated, "The companies supported by the Robot Star Company development project are using this as a stepping stone to continue growing," and added, "We will work with Incheon City to provide more diverse support so that Incheon companies can grow into leading mid-sized companies representing Korea."
