Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) held a ‘Corn Harvest Experience’ event on the 19th at the Gwangmyeong Urban Agriculture Experience Center.

This corn harvest experience event was conducted for children’s groups and general families from Geumcheon-gu recruited through the Geumcheon-gu website. Participants enjoyed various activities including ▲ corn harvesting experience ▲ sharing grilled corn over charcoal ▲ farm tours.

Geumcheon-gu has established and operates urban agriculture experience centers at Anyangcheon (719-5, Doksan-dong, left bank) and Gwangmyeong (332, Haan-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, Gwangmyeong Farm) this year. Among them, Gwangmyeong Farm operates a camping farm (8 decks, 3,000㎡) and a weekend farm (50 public garden plots, 1,283㎡).

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope children and parents who find it difficult to experience rural scenery in daily life were able to enjoy the joy of harvest even for a moment through this event,” and added, “We plan to hold an autumn crop harvest experience in October, so we ask for your active participation then as well.”

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the ‘2022 Nowon-gu Social Economy Enterprises Public Procurement Expo’ held at the Nowon-gu Office auditorium at 2 p.m. on the 19th.

Started in 2017 and now in its 5th year, the ‘Nowon-gu Social Economy Enterprises Public Procurement Expo’ is an event designed to raise awareness of social economy enterprises and public procurement, and to promote and support sales channels for products and services of social economy enterprises.

The event was co-hosted by Nowon-gu Office and the Nowon Social Economy Support Center, with participation from 18 social economy enterprises in Nowon-gu, including social enterprises, cooperatives, village enterprises, and self-support enterprises.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “Through this event, I hope to not only raise awareness of social economy enterprises but also expand sales channels and increase income through institutional public procurement,” adding, “During these difficult times due to COVID-19, we will continue to support the activation of social economy not only within the local social economy enterprises but beyond.”

Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, visited the workplace daycare center located on the first floor of the government building on the 19th to greet children and assisted in delivering quarantine supplies at the distribution site of COVID-19 self-test kits at the daycare center on the third basement floor.

This was a proactive response to protect vulnerable children and prevent the spread of infection amid the recent resurgence of COVID-19.

On the same day, the district distributed 14,500 self-test kits and 106 disinfectant sprays to 106 daycare centers in the area at the Yongsan Art Hall lecture room. The kits are sufficient for 4,787 children and childcare staff to use three kits each and will be stored at the daycare centers for use when infection is suspected.

Mayor Park Hee-young of Yongsan-gu said, “Parents must be very worried about sending their children to daycare centers amid the confusing situation caused by the COVID-19 resurgence,” and added, “We will carefully support the safety of children, including providing self-test kits and protecting those in vaccine blind spots.”

The district started the 4th COVID-19 vaccination and pre-registration from July 18 for those aged 50 and over and those aged 18-49 with underlying conditions. Reservations can be made through the ‘Vaccination Pre-Registration System,’ by phone at medical institutions, or by visiting community centers.

Jung Moon-heon, Mayor of Jongno-gu, plans to enhance resident satisfaction by establishing an online civil complaint reception system within the Resident Communication Office and holding ‘non-face-to-face communication meetings’ with the start of the 8th elected term.

Notably, Mayor Jung Moon-heon himself will attend meetings using the Zoom program to communicate more closely with residents, not only the heads or staff of the relevant departments.

Jongno-gu’s communication meetings will be conducted in two stages: ▲ Stage 1 non-face-to-face ▲ Stage 2 final face-to-face. The agenda items are complex and repetitive civil complaints directly applied for by residents to the Resident Communication Office.

For complex and chronic complaints spanning multiple departments, the head of the Resident Communication Office will hold meetings flexibly once or twice a week if deemed necessary for video conferencing.

Once the agenda and schedule are decided, the complainant is notified and can attend the Stage 1 non-face-to-face communication meeting at their local community center on the scheduled day without needing to visit the district office. The results are delivered in writing within 10 days.

The Stage 2 final face-to-face meeting is held if the complainant raises objections to the results of the previous non-face-to-face meeting. It is limited to cases where the Resident Communication Office head and the relevant department head decide that a re-examination is necessary, with attendance by the Resident Communication Office, the relevant department staff, and the complainant.

Jongno-gu expects that holding communication meetings in stages will improve residents’ satisfaction with administrative services and work efficiency, and reduce the distance between the district office and residents to create an open district administration.

Mayor Jung Moon-heon stated, “In addition to communication meetings, we will establish various online and offline channels to listen to the voices of Jongno residents and carefully ensure that civil complaints are handled fairly.”
