Up to 5 Million Won Paid in 2 Years Including Savings, Provincial/City/County Subsidies, and Interest
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, will implement the 'Gyeonggi-do Disabled Youth Nuri Account' project starting this September to support asset formation for severely disabled young adults.
The 'Nuri Account' project is a policy that helps disabled youth build assets by matching their savings 1:1 with Gyeonggi Province when they save up to 100,000 KRW per month for two years.
The program targets 19-year-old disabled youth with severe comprehensive disabilities who have their registered address in Gyeonggi Province for 24 months.
However, those enrolled in similar asset formation support programs such as the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Hope Keyum, Tomorrow Keyum, Youth Hope Keyum Accounts, Youth Savings Accounts, Gyeonggi-do Youth Worker Accounts, Seoul Irum Accounts, and Incheon Happiness Seed Accounts are excluded.
Severely disabled participants in the project can receive up to 5 million KRW after two years, combining their savings, provincial/city/county support funds, and interest.
The accumulated funds can be used for tuition, housing costs, start-up expenses, vocational training fees, and more.
Severely disabled individuals wishing to participate can apply at their local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center from the 18th until August 12th.
