Mayor Park's Visit to Health Center on the 8th, Orders Thorough Review of Staffing Plans for Potential Resurgence... Also Requests Systematic Cooperation Framework Among COVID-19 Departments
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The average daily number of COVID-19 confirmed cases has exceeded 14,000 over the past week.
On the morning of the 8th, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, conducted an inspection of the response system in preparation for the resurgence of COVID-19.
Visiting the Mapo-gu Public Health Center, Mayor Park Gang-su requested, “Please make thorough preparations to prevent the spread of the recently circulating Omicron variant and ensure the safety of residents,” and urged, “Establish a systematic cooperation system among COVID-19 related departments and respond swiftly so that residents can feel secure.”
Mayor Park sequentially visited the health center’s screening clinic, epidemiological investigation office, and vaccination room to check for any inconveniences to residents. He also carefully reviewed plans to reinforce response personnel in line with the increase in confirmed cases and to add specimen collection rooms if the number of testees rises.
The district is operating the existing health center services normally while also thoroughly managing COVID-19 tasks such as ▲COVID-19 screening clinics ▲epidemiological investigations ▲bed allocation and classification for confirmed cases ▲transportation of confirmed cases ▲operation of the COVID-19 call center.
Furthermore, if the daily confirmed cases in Mapo-gu exceed 500, up to 32 nursing staff will be deployed for epidemiological investigations. If cases exceed 1,000, all health center staff will be assigned to epidemiological investigations, and work shifts will be organized on weekends and holidays to minimize gaps in investigations.
If the number of testees exceeds 1,000, the existing three specimen collection rooms will be increased to four, and if it exceeds 1,500, the number will be raised to five to minimize inconvenience to residents.
Additionally, in accordance with government policy, a strong cooperative system among the government, Seoul City, and Mapo-gu will be maintained to ensure the smooth administration of the fourth COVID-19 vaccination.
