The 17th Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival Opens... "Emotion for Children, Inspiration for Adults!"

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will host the 17th Busan International Children and Youth Film Festival for 10 days from the 8th to the 17th at the Busan Cinema Center, Daechoncheon in Buk-gu, and Yurari Square in Jung-gu.


Sponsored by the city and organized by the Busan International Children and Youth Film Festival, this festival's motto is "Emotion for children, inspiration for adults!" and its slogan is "We are all unique!"


During the festival, a total of 155 films from 61 countries will be screened. Starting with the opening ceremony at 6 p.m. on July 8 at the Sky Theater of the Busan Cinema Center, various events such as screenings, Q&A sessions with the audience, poster exhibitions, special performances, exhibitions and experience events, and forums will take place at various venues.


This year's opening ceremony will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Children's Day, where the children and youth executive committee "Bikies" will announce the "Children's Rights Declaration Again," allowing citizens to reflect on the significance of the proclamation of Children's Day.


The opening film is "Hello, Cinema Paradise" directed by Pan Nallin. It centers on a teenager who falls in love with movies and the cinematic world experienced by an individual striving for inner growth. It will be screened at 7 p.m. on the 8th at the Sky Theater of the Busan Cinema Center.

Kim Ki-hwan, Director of the Culture and Sports Bureau of the city, said, "Congratulations on the opening of the 17th Busan International Children and Youth Film Festival commemorating the 100th anniversary of Children's Day," and added, "I hope this festival will be an opportunity for the inner growth of children and youth."
