According to Gyeongsangnam-do on the morning of the 8th, 1,039 new confirmed cases were reported in the province on the 7th.
Among them, 1,018 were local infections and 21 were overseas arrivals.
By city and county, Changwon reported 160 cases, Masan 107, Jinhae 75, totaling 342 cases in Changwon City; Gimhae City had 217 cases; Yangsan City 103; Jinju City 98; Geoje City 83; Tongyeong City 35; and Sacheon City 34 confirmed cases.
Namhae County reported 24 cases; Miryang City 18; Hadong County 15; Geochang County 13; Hamyang County 12; Changnyeong County 11; Hapcheon County 10; Sancheong County 9; Goseong County 6; and Haman County 5 cases, while Uiryeong County had the fewest with 4 cases.
On the same day, one person in their 90s, two in their 80s, and one in their 70s died while receiving treatment for COVID-19 infection.
In a briefing that day, the province announced that the number of confirmed cases in July so far is 5,645, the total cumulative confirmed cases are 1,109,894, the total number of deaths is 1,244, and the cumulative mortality rate is 0.11%.
