[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam County, Jeollanam-do, presents a new promise to its residents centered on 100 tasks across five major areas under the local government goal of the 8th term, "Vigorous Leap! The Best Haenam Where Life is Worth Living."

According to the county on the 8th, the local government goal for the 8th term in Haenam is "Vigorous Leap! The Best Haenam Where Life is Worth Living," which means continuing the challenge and change that achieved the greatest local government performance in the 7th term into the construction of a stable and prosperous best Haenam.

In particular, the county has selected 100 key tasks as promises to residents under five local government policies: communication and empathy ethical management, sustainable future agriculture, Southwest Coast tourism hub, symbiotic vitality balanced development, and people-centered sharing welfare, and plans to focus on these during the 8th term.

The main core tasks include promoting Haenam-type ESG ethical management and establishing a scholarship fund of 50 billion KRW and an education foundation under the local government operation policy of "participation, respect, and trusted ethical management."

Also, for "sustainable agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, leading future life industries," the county proposes expanding and spreading smart agriculture, building dormitories for foreign rural workers to expand the rural labor base, and fostering the kimchi and sweet potato convergence industry.

As strategies for "daily enjoyment, travel Haenam revisited" and "enhancing the value of history, culture, and Haenam uniqueness," private-led tourism industry revitalization, development of Hwawon Mokpo-gu lighthouse, maintenance of the Mahan historical and cultural area, and creation of a digital historical and cultural content plaza were selected.

With the goal of "cooperative coexistence, balanced development, and economic vitality," the county plans to promote region-specific population vitality projects and expand safe and convenient transportation infrastructure. The creation of a youth-friendly city focusing on designation as a women-friendly city, expansion of rental housing, and complex residential culture spaces is also included under "people-centered health and welfare together."

To respond to climate change and lead carbon neutrality, which has been a focus since the 7th term, key tasks include establishing a climate change response agricultural research complex and creating a carbon-neutral cluster.

The county plans to hold reporting sessions after establishing detailed implementation plans for each task, concretize the 100 tasks, and expand resident participation through processes such as expert consulting and a manifesto resident jury system, thereby increasing transparency in pledge implementation.

Meanwhile, Haenam County achieved an implementation rate of over 99% for 65 tasks promised to residents during the 7th term and earned the highest level of pledge implementation nationwide, receiving the Manifesto Pledge Implementation Evaluation's top (SA) grade for four consecutive years.

County Governor Myung Hyun-gwan emphasized, "With the cooperation of residents during the 7th term, we were able to fulfill over 99% of our pledges and keep our promises to the residents," adding, "We will thoroughly implement the 100 tasks of the 8th term as well to lay the foundation for a century-long development of local government."
