July 12-14 and July 19-20, One Lane Closed on Downward Route (Hakjang→Daesin)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will implement traffic control at Gudeok Tunnel (1 Hakgam-daero, Sasang-gu) due to remote monitoring equipment improvement works.
The traffic control will take place over a total of 5 days: from July 12 to 14, and from July 19 to 20. To avoid traffic congestion, control will be enforced during off-peak hours from 10 PM on the control day until 5 AM the following day, lasting 7 hours each night.
During this period, one of the two southbound lanes from Hakjang-dong to Daesin-dong at Gudeok Tunnel will be closed, while the remaining lane will remain open for public use to minimize inconvenience to citizens.
Min Sungi, Director of Road Planning at Busan City, stated, “To minimize inconvenience to citizens, we plan to complete the work safely and swiftly to shorten the traffic control period,” and added, “We ask for the active cooperation and understanding of all citizens regarding the traffic control.”
This project is being carried out to improve the aging remote monitoring equipment installed in Gudeok Tunnel, enabling prompt response to emergencies and preventing safety accidents within the tunnel. It is expected to protect citizens’ valuable lives and allow for more efficient management of the facilities.
The construction is being undertaken by Hanmin Kyung City TV.
