Yeonggwang-gun Hosts '2023 National Treasury Proposal Project Discovery Meeting'

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kang Jongman) announced on the 7th that it held the ‘2023 Local Issues National Treasury Proposal Project Progress and Provincial Transition Project Discovery Report Meeting’ presided over by Governor Kang Jongman on the 6th.

At the meeting, they reviewed the status of reflection by central government departments and response plans for unreflected projects, aiming to secure 125.5 billion KRW in national funds out of a total project cost of 837.3 billion KRW for 43 local issue national treasury proposal projects in 2023 (17 new, 26 ongoing).

The local issue national treasury proposal projects include 17 new projects such as the Southern Region Wide-area Tourism Development Brand Project, Green Hydrogen Water Electrolysis Certification Center Construction Project, and Yellow Corvina Aquaculture Industrialization Center Construction, as well as 26 ongoing projects such as Natural Disaster Risk Zone Maintenance Project, Green Hydrogen Production System Technology Development and Performance Testing Center Construction, and Personal Mobility Platform Core Technology Development and Demonstration Project.

The 2023 provincial transition projects transferred to local governments include a total of 51 projects (10 new, 17 ongoing, 24 annually repeated) with a project cost of 52.9 billion KRW (27.6 billion KRW in national fund compensation). They plan to discover these projects and make all-out efforts including visits to Jeollanam-do for proposals and budget securing.

Governor Kang Jongman said, “I commend the efforts of the staff who have done their best to expand the county’s finances,” and added, “I ask all public officials to actively discover new policies through proactive administration, visit central government departments and Jeollanam-do to emphasize the justification of the projects, and strive to secure as much budget as possible.”
