"Safe Logistics Facilities = Delivery Competitiveness" SSG.com Acquires Additional Safety Management Certification for Automated Logistics Center

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] SSG.com has additionally acquired safety management certification for its own logistics facilities. Following the ISO45001 certification for the SSG.com headquarters building and the automated logistics center 'NE.O003' in February, which was the first in the domestic e-commerce industry, NE.O001 and NE.O002 have also completed the certification process.

On the 7th, SSG.com announced that the online-only logistics centers NE.O001 and NE.O002 located in Yongin and Gimpo received ISO45001 certification from the Korea Management Registrar (KMR).

ISO45001 is an international standard safety and health management system established in 2018 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). It is awarded to companies that have established management systems to minimize industrial accidents that may occur in workplaces.

SSG.com stated that it has consistently carried out safety management activities focusing on establishing systems to prevent accidents that may occur in industrial facilities such as logistics centers and to enable initial response in emergency situations.

They have deployed managers with safety-related qualifications at the three NE.O centers to continuously monitor risk factors within the workplaces. Along with mandatory fire inspections under the Basic Fire Services Act, periodic self-inspections are also conducted in cooperation with external specialized companies. An electric panel-type automatic fire extinguishing system for initial fire suppression has been installed, and joint drills with fire agencies are conducted annually.

Each center has established an on-site health care room staffed with professional health managers (nurses). The operation aims to conduct medical consultations for employees to regularly check their health status. Additionally, health promotion programs to prevent cerebrovascular and musculoskeletal diseases are also operated.

SSG.com plans to leverage the safety management experience of the NE.O centers to transfer it to over 120 PP (Picking & Packing) centers scattered across nationwide E-Mart stores. Through this, they aim to reduce the possibility of accidents to 'zero' and elevate their safety management capabilities to a higher level.

Yeom Seong-sik, head of ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) at SSG.com, said, "This certification once again recognizes the company's efforts to create a safe working environment. As corporate social responsibility regarding industrial accidents is increasing, we will continue to make multifaceted efforts."
