Jisan 1, Seondong 1, and Seondong 2 Districts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Park Byung-gyu) announced on the 6th that three areas?Jisan 1 District and Seon-dong 1 and 2 Districts, located in Jisan-dong and Seon-dong?have been designated as cadastral readjustment districts.
The cadastral readjustment project is a national initiative aimed at aligning the actual land use status with the registered details in the cadastral register and converting paper cadastral maps into digital formats.
The purpose is to resolve disputes between landowners through land regularization and boundary adjustments, efficiently manage national land, and protect citizens' property rights.
The district held a residents' briefing session on February 14 for the three districts: Jisan 1 District (604 parcels / 416,000㎡), Seon-dong 1 District (516 parcels / 438,000㎡), and Seon-dong 2 District (116 parcels / 441,000㎡), and subsequently obtained consent from more than two-thirds of the landowners and area.
Following deliberation by the Gwangju Metropolitan City Cadastral Readjustment Committee, the areas were designated as cadastral readjustment districts on the 1st of this month.
Gwangsan-gu plans to complete the current status survey and cadastral readjustment surveying of land, including buildings, fences, and roads, by August this year.
Once surveying is complete, a field communication office will operate in September to collect opinions on boundary adjustments, followed by a boundary determination committee resolution to finalize boundaries, with the project scheduled for completion by the first half of 2023.
A Gwangsan-gu official stated, “Upon completion of the cadastral readjustment project, boundary disputes between neighbors will disappear, and the land’s utilization value will increase, greatly contributing to the protection of citizens’ property rights,” adding, “We ask for the active participation and cooperation of landowners and stakeholders.”
