Policy for Stable Tap Water Supply to Local Residents through Facility Improvements
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, will conduct a technical diagnosis of all water purification plants in the region to produce and supply safe and clean tap water.
The county announced on the 6th that it will invest 200 million won in a service fee to carry out a technical diagnosis targeting the Sancheong-Saengpul integrated water purification plant, Danseong, and City Hall water purification plants.
This technical diagnosis will be conducted from July until April 2023.
Sancheong-gun plans to improve facilities based on the diagnosis results to stably supply high-quality tap water to local residents.
According to Article 74 of the Water Supply Act, water service providers must conduct a technical diagnosis of water supply facilities every five years.
The technical diagnosis performer must analyze the operation status of the water purification plants, diagnose functions by process and facility, and identify causes of functional degradation according to the Ministry of Environment’s ‘Water Purification Plant Technical Diagnosis Manual,’ and propose corresponding improvement measures.
A county official said, “We will do our best to improve water purification plant facilities through meticulous diagnosis and management,” adding, “We will strive to produce and supply safe and clean tap water that local residents can trust and use.”
