Jeonnam Province Beautiful Garden Contest 'Fine Crowd' Grand Prize

[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, awarded the grand prize to Mr. Choi Yong-il's private garden "Pine Crowd" in Amtae-myeon, Sinan-gun, at the '2022 Jeollanam-do Pretty Garden Contest.'

The Pretty Garden Contest was held by Jeollanam-do to discover beautiful gardens created and maintained by the private sector, share their value with the public, spread garden culture in daily life, and revitalize garden tourism in the post-COVID-19 era.

The contest was conducted in two categories: private gardens and neighborhood gardens (cafes, restaurants, etc.). A total of 46 places applied, and through the first document screening and the second on-site evaluation, Sinan-gun's "Pine Crowd" won the grand prize.

Pine Crowd was evaluated as having a modern Korean garden aesthetic, featuring a concept of enjoying the garden with pine trees, combining pine bonsai, natural stones, and waterfalls.

The selected gardens will receive a "Jeollanam-do Pretty Garden" plaque to enhance the pride of the garden owners and promote garden culture. For large-scale gardens that can be shared with the public, they will be registered as private gardens and developed into representative tourist attractions of Jeollanam-do.

County Governor Park Woo-ryang stated, "Since creating the 1004 Islands, a place where forests are lush and flowers bloom all year round, many people, including those of Amtae's 'Pine Ground,' have settled in Sinan-gun, making it a better place to live together," and added, "We will strive to provide generous support for creating beautiful gardens in Sinan-gun."
