NanoEntek Secures European Patent for High-Performance On-Site Diagnostic Platform 'Sample Preprocessing Module'

Automated Sample Preprocessing Module Patent
Expansion of Hormonal Diagnostic Area in Europe Region

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] As COVID-19 cases rise again recently, demand for antigen test kits is increasing in countries such as Germany and Italy. NanoEntek is strengthening its market competitiveness by securing overseas patents.

On the 6th, NanoEntek announced that it has registered a European patent for the ‘Automated Sample Preprocessing Module and Sample Preprocessing Method Using the Same’ for fast and accurate diagnosis.

During on-site diagnostic processes, errors can occur as experimenters manually handle sample injection volume, mixing, and reaction time. Through this patent, an automated sample preprocessing module is configured to enhance the reliability and convenience of testing. It also enables efficient operation of laboratory personnel.

A NanoEntek official explained, "Among the 20 items released in the high-performance on-site diagnostic platform ‘Friend System,’ this patented technology is applied to some hormone-related items that require complex testing." He added, "Following the United States and Japan, we have secured patents in Europe as well," and "We plan to expand the hormone-related diagnostic area and diversify sales channels in the European region."

NanoEntek has been supplying antigen test kits to Europe after obtaining the European CE-IVD certification, triggered by COVID-19. Demand is increasing due to signs of a COVID-19 resurgence. Demand for various diagnostic products, including COVID-19 antigen test kits, is rising in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and France.

NanoEntek’s main product, the ‘Friend System,’ is an in vitro diagnostic device that uses fluorescent microfluidic technology to obtain accurate results on-site with a small amount of sample. It has been recognized for its technological excellence by obtaining U.S. FDA approval for Male Hormone (Testosterone), Prostate Disease Diagnosis (PSA Plus), Thyroid Hormones (TSH, Free T4), and Vitamin D diagnostics.
