[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Woori Bank announced on the 6th that it has become the first bank in the industry to obtain the international standard certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ‘ISO45001,’ from the Korea Productivity Center Certification Institute.
ISO45001 is an international standard established in 2018 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) to ensure worker safety. It comprehensively evaluates matters related to occupational health and safety, including management systems for preventing industrial accidents and creating safe working environments, and is awarded to workplaces that meet these standards. Woori Bank explained that it has established manuals and systems covering all aspects of occupational health and safety and the establishment and operation of safety and health management systems, which are increasingly emphasized socially.
Lee Won-duk, CEO of Woori Bank, emphasized, “We will continue to prioritize the lives and safety of employees and related workers as the highest value in corporate management and take the lead in management that fulfills social responsibility.”
