‘Summer Pick Citrus Blended’ Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Starbucks Korea announced that it will launch the ‘Summer Pick Citrus Blended,’ created together with 550,000 customers through the ‘PICK YOUR DRINK’ event, at stores nationwide starting from the 5th.
The event held in April was a recipe tournament from step 1 to step 5 and a beverage naming contest in step 6, where customers directly participated to develop a new drink reflecting their own preferences. The theme was drinks to enjoy at summer vacation spots.
The Summer Pick Citrus Blended, born from recipes chosen by customers at each stage, is an impressive beverage with a visual reminiscent of a cobalt-blue sea and sandy beach. It features a refreshing combination of lemon and yuzu, three tropical fruits, and a crunchy meringue topping.
In step 1, where customers chose the main color and theme of the drink, ‘Cool Sea’ was selected. In step 2, choosing the visual, ‘Just the Two of Us’ was selected, completing a two-tone visual. In step 3, selecting the taste, ‘Tingling and Refreshing Flavor’ was chosen; in step 4, selecting the aroma, ‘Tingling Citrus Flavor’ received the most votes; and in step 5, for toppings, ‘Colorful Fruit Toppings’ was the most popular choice.
The drink’s name means “a blended citrus-flavored drink picked by customers that suits summer” and was selected through the naming contest. It will be sold for a limited time until the 18th of this month and may end early if store inventory runs out.
The drink is also included as a mission beverage in Starbucks’ summer e-frequency event running until the 11th.
