[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Hanwha Aerospace has embarked on a social contribution project through education by providing educational services and scholarships to students who are nurturing their dreams in the aerospace machinery field.

Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 5th that it held a space and aerospace mentoring project agreement ceremony on the 1st at the Hanwha Building in Janggyo-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.

Hanwha Aerospace planned this social contribution project together with the social welfare foundation Children and Future Foundation to enhance students' interest and enthusiasm in the aerospace machinery field and to provide opportunities for career exploration in the field.

Hanwha Aerospace's space and aerospace mentoring project is a social contribution initiative in which 18 university students majoring in aerospace-related fields, selected nationwide, provide non-face-to-face aerospace maker education and career mentoring to 150 middle school students in science clubs and free semester systems near Hanwha Aerospace business sites in Pangyo, Asan, Changwon, and other locations. Maker education refers to students creating what they want by themselves and learning by sharing the making process with others.

Additionally, university students participating in the activities will receive mentoring related to the company and job duties in connection with Hanwha Aerospace employees through prior job research, and will also be supported with scholarships from the company.

At the agreement ceremony, Shin Hyun-woo, President of Hanwha Aerospace, said, "This will be a great opportunity for middle school students, who are at the first stage of career exploration and decision-making, to unfold their dreams in the promising future industry of aerospace." He added, "I hope university students indirectly experience the aerospace industry and that this will greatly help them decide their future careers."

Meanwhile, the selected university student mentor group was chosen through a first document screening and a second interview screening from aerospace machinery-related majors nationwide. Maker education and career mentoring are scheduled to begin in September and continue until December.
