Mokpo Mayor Park Hong-ryul at Regular Meeting: "Let's Strive Vigorously Toward a Greater Mokpo"

Presiding Over the First Regular Meeting of the 8th Civil Administration... Explaining Municipal Goals and Introducing the Direction of City Governance

On the 4th, Mayor Park presided over the first regular meeting of the 8th local government administration, the "July Regular Meeting," and made this statement.

Mayor Park said, "I am glad to meet public officials again after four years," and expressed gratitude for their hard work, saying, "You have worked very hard responding to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic for over two years."

He then focused on explaining the administrative goal of the 8th local government term, "A Hopeful Leap! A Greater Mokpo that Attracts Youth."

Mayor Park introduced the background of the "Hopeful Leap," saying, "We must always have hope, never give up, and overcome difficulties."

He continued, "Youth is not defined by age but refers to those who can work, including people in their 20s and 30s," and emphasized, "To create conditions where youth can work, we plan to establish complexes centered on advanced industries such as AI, robotics, and IT. When youth come, it not only brings in working population but also leads to population growth through marriage and childbirth."

He also stressed, "A greater Mokpo also means integration with Sinan County. For successful integration, public officials must thoroughly understand the laws and regulations, and cooperation from the private sector, such as sister city partnerships, must be strengthened."

Afterward, Mayor Park visited the construction site of Mokpo Sports Complex and the fishery food export complex project site in Daeyang Industrial Complex to inspect and receive progress reports, encouraging those involved. He then moved to the original downtown area, visited the Mokpo Senior Welfare Center to hear about its operations, and held a meeting with officials from the Korea Senior Citizens Association Mokpo Branch.
