Foreign Selling Pressure Causes 'Warigari' Fluctuations in Domestic Stock Market... KOSPI Repeatedly Moves Around 2300 Level [Image source=Yonhap News]

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The KOSPI index is fluctuating around the 2300 level during the session due to selling pressure from foreign investors.


As of 10:45 a.m. on the 4th, the KOSPI index stood at 2296.99, down 8.43 points (0.37%) compared to the previous trading day. The index opened at 2310.73, up 5.31 points (0.23%) from the previous day, but has been alternating between gains and losses due to foreign selling. Around 9:05 a.m. today, it hit a session low of 2288.92. Foreigners net sold approximately 126.2 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions net bought about 5.4 billion KRW and 119.6 billion KRW, respectively.


At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is also weak. The KOSDAQ index fell 5.73 points (0.79%) from the previous day to 723.75. Individuals net bought about 59 billion KRW, helping to curb the index's decline, but foreigners and institutions net sold approximately 55.4 billion KRW and 4.1 billion KRW, respectively.
