Suspected Violation of the Narcotics Control Act
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Kim, a former Blue House administrator under the Moon Jae-in administration, has been brought to trial on charges of using methamphetamine while working at the Blue House.
According to the legal community on the 4th, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office indicted Kim, a man in his 30s, without detention on the 30th of last month for violating the Narcotics Control Act. It was confirmed that Mr. A was working at the Blue House at the time he purchased and used methamphetamine in January.
The Pyeongtaek Police Station in Gyeonggi Province recognized the case and investigated it, then transferred the case to the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul, which has jurisdiction over Kim's home address. The police sent Kim to the prosecution in mid-May on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
It is known that in early January, Kim purchased 0.5g of methamphetamine for 400,000 won from a drug dealer via Telegram. The dealer reportedly hid the methamphetamine in a villa in Seoul, and Kim took it from there. Afterwards, Kim is said to have used methamphetamine at a motel located in Gangnam, Seoul.
Meanwhile, Kim's first trial is scheduled to be held on the 25th of next month at 10:10 a.m. at the Seoul Eastern District Court, Criminal Division 6 (Judge Park Kangmin presiding).
