[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Jeju Air announced on the 4th that it will provide unlimited ice cream for two months, July and August, to help its employees get through the summer.
Jeju Air installed large refrigerators in various locations within the company, such as the Maintenance Headquarters lounge and the cabin crew lounge, allowing employees working in the heat to enjoy a variety of ice cream freely.
This event aims to boost the morale of employees working outdoors in the heat, such as maintenance technicians, airport field workers who have to serve more passengers than usual during the summer peak season, and cabin crew. It has been held for seven years since 2016.
On the 1st, before increasing international flights, a Crew Day event was held at the Aviation Support Center lounge. A work-related quiz event was also conducted to improve the adaptability of cabin crew members who frequently take long-term leave and return to work. Various prizes were distributed through a raffle event targeting all cabin crew, including those on leave. Drinks and snacks were also provided for cabin and flight crew to share together.
A Jeju Air official said, “We continue the tradition of providing cool ice cream in summer and steamed buns in winter to our employees this year as well. Despite the difficult situation, we aim to create an enjoyable working atmosphere so that we can serve passengers more comfortably and pleasantly during this summer peak season.”
