[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The People Power Party directly criticized the opposition party regarding the 35-day stalemate in the National Assembly's organization, stating, "If the Democratic Party of Korea continues negotiations with reasonable common sense, looking not only at some hardline supporters but at the majority of the people, the normalization of the National Assembly is immediately possible."

Yang Geum-hee, the floor spokesperson for the People Power Party, said in a statement on the 3rd, "Supporters of a particular party are also citizens. However, deciding on only one answer solely for a minority and blocking all discussions through coordinate targeting and text bombings can never be the correct answer for democracy."

He added, "If we close our eyes to the fear of these coordinate and text units and ignore public sentiment, it will be a clear dereliction of duty as lawmakers representing not only party members but the people."

Spokesperson Yang emphasized, "The demand to withdraw the Constitutional Court review of the 'Prosecutorial Investigation and Prosecution Rights Separation Act' (known as Geomsu Wanbak Law) and the demand to agree to the formation of the Special Committee on Criminal Procedure, which is an extension of the Geomsu Wanbak Law, are, as everyone knows, completely unrelated to the organization of the National Assembly. Also, if the Geomsu Wanbak Law is legitimate, there is no reason to fear the Constitutional Court review."

He continued, "It is a matter for the Constitutional Court to judge according to the Constitution whether the reduction of prosecutorial investigation functions and the deprivation of the complainant's right to object infringe on the people's right to a speedy trial and basic rights, whether the National Assembly's agenda adjustment committee was paralyzed by disguised party defections, and whether legislative procedures such as the submission and voting of amendments unrelated to standing committees in the plenary session were lawful."

Spokesperson Yang concluded, "The National Assembly should quickly focus on matters for the livelihood of the people. We hope that the Democratic Party will be a party for all citizens."
