Ioniq 6 and EV9 Concept Cars Unveiled at Busan Motor Show Hyundai Motor Company's second dedicated electric vehicle Ioniq 6


[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 3rd that it will exhibit a total of 22 vehicle models at the 2022 Busan International Motor Show, which will be held for ten days starting from the 15th.


The most eye-catching is the Ioniq 6, unveiled for the first time in the world. It is Hyundai's second electric vehicle using a dedicated platform and is a sedan model. The Seven concept car, being developed as an electric sports utility vehicle (SUV), will also be exhibited. This model will be released as the Ioniq 7 in the future.


As eco-friendly vehicles, the Ioniq 5, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles Universe (bus), and Xcient (truck) will be displayed. There are also the Casper and Casper Van, as well as the leisure vehicle Staria Lounge Limousine. Hyundai named the exhibition hall concept for this event "Experience of Sustainable Mobility Life."

The premium brand Genesis will set up a separate booth from Hyundai Motor. The Genesis X Speedium Coupe, first unveiled in New York last April, will be revealed domestically for the first time. This car is a concept model that embodies Genesis's design philosophy and future inspiration. Among production cars, the recently decided domestic launch G70 Shooting Brake, as well as electric vehicles GV60 and GV70 EV, sedan-type electric vehicles G80 EV, and G90 LWB will be exhibited.


Kia will unveil the new model of the compact SUV Seltos for the first time at this event. The large SUV concept car EV9 will also be introduced domestically for the first time. As eco-friendly vehicles, the Niro Plus, Niro EV, and EV6 GT will be displayed. Additionally, there are the mid-to-large sedan K8 Hybrid, Sportage Hybrid, and Ray single-seater van model.

Hyundai Motor Group focused on giving the impression that it is preparing for the electrification era by exhibiting new electric vehicles, production cars, and many concept cars under development from each brand. Hyundai will also prepare spaces to promote commercial electrification models, robotics, and future mobility means, as well as to experience digital services.


Genesis will operate test drive programs for major models including the new G70 Shooting Brake and present a lifestyle exhibition space. Kia will set up its booth with the intention of promoting the brand's unique design philosophy and purpose-built vehicles (PBV).


The event will be held from the 14th press day and general public viewing starting the next day until the 24th at BEXCO Exhibition Halls 1 and 2.
